Upland Pop Warner Players Go Pro/Semi Pro



For the last decade, Upland Pop Warner has continued to grow our legacy and Upland traditions. Here is just some of Upland Pop Warner and our dedicated players that make Upland Pop Warner's legacy great: 







Tyler Hilinski





Tyler Hilisnki was an American football quarterback who played college football at Washington Sate University. Tyler attended Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks, California, before he transferred to Upland High School, prior to  his junior year. He played as a quarterback on the Upland High School football team. In his junior year, Tyler passed for 3,053 years and 34 touch downs.

Tyler was the Upland Pop Warner Outlaw's quarterback for the 2009 and 2010 years under Coach Berry Westbrook and Offensive Coach Mike Esquivel.  

Tyler enrolled at Washington State University and took a redshirt year in 2015. He became the backup quarterback for the Washington State Cougars in 2016. As a sophmore, Tyler came off the bench to relieve starting quarterback Luke Falk against the Boise State Broncos, overcoming a 21-point deficit to win the game in a triple overtie. He also relieved Falk agaist the Arizona Wildcats in a lss. Due to an injury to Falk. Tyler received his first start for the Cougars in the 2017 Hoiday Bowl, completing 39 of 50 passes for 272 yards with two touchdowns. Tyler finished the 2017 season completing 130 of 179 passes attempted for 1,176 yards, with seven touch downs and seven interceptions. He was excepted to succeed Falk as the Cougars' starting quarterback in 2018. 



Nate Romine




Nate Romine is an American Football player who is the quarterback for the US Air Force Academy Falcons. Nate attended Upland High School and lettered all four years in football. Nate helped the Upland High School football team to the CIF Championship as a freshman and was selected as the first team all league selection twice. Nate was the most valuable player as a senion, all CIF his senior year and won the team's Ironman Award. Upland High School won the Baseline League Championship. 

Nate is currently a Senior at the Air Force Academy and majoring in Management while attending the US Air Force Academy. He served as the assistant commander for the asaault course during Basic Cadet Training and completed the powered flight program.  

In 2013, Nate played in nine games, starting the last give and becoming the fourth guarterback to start for the Air Force during the season when he made his first-career start vs Notre Dame. Nate is one of 20 true freshman nationally to start as a quarterback and became the first freshman to start at quarterback for the Air Force since Tim Jefferson in 2008. Nate led the Falcons with 76 yards rushing on 21 carries vs Notre Dame. 

Nate's career record of 9-7 as a starter, had seven straight wins and became the 15th player in the Air Force history to surpass 2,000 yards passing and ranks 15th in school history in career passing yards. Nate ranks sixth in Air Force Academy history in career passing efficiency (140.73) and ranks second in Air Force history in career yards per completion (19.6)



Cole McCarty




Cole McCarty is an American Football player who is the linebacker for  Fullerton College. Cole attended Upland High School and lettered all four years in football. Cole helped the Upland High School Football team with a 91 total solo tackles his senior year. Cole had an overall 315 all purpose yards his senior year alone. 



Grant Porter 




Freshman Grant Porter has yet to play a single game for Washington State, but he's already made an impact on the Pullman community. Porter might have saved a man's life early May 2017, as he intervened in what police believe was a suicide attempt. 

As a Junior at Upland High School Grant made 23 catches for 366 yards and one touchdown. As a senior, injured most of the season and limited to three games; he recorded four catches for 62 yards, averaged 15.5 yards-per-catch and rated three-star prospect by ESPN.com, Rivals.com and Scout.com. Grant ranked #83 wide receiver prospect in the country and #16 wideout in the West by Scout.com.

 



George Fierro




George Fierro Jr. is a native of Upland where he played youth football, baseball and basketball.  He started playing youth football for the Upland Pop Warner Bandits at age 7 years old. George went on to play linebacker at Upland High School and Claremont High school his senior year.  After high school, George focused on runnng marathon's and in 2009 begun playing safety for the Semi Pro So Cal Eagles football team. 


Taylor Boggs


Andrew Taylor Boggs is an American football center who is currently a free agemt. He was a walk on at Humbolt State in Arcata and was signed by the New York Jets as an undrafted free agent in 2011.  Taylor was going unselected in the 211 NFL Draft, Taylor was placed on the injured reserve in August 2011 before being cut in April 2012.  Taylor was set to be an exclusing rights free agent and signed with the Chicago Bears. Taylor appeared in one game for the Bears in 2013 despite dressing all 16 games. 

Taylor resigned to a one-year deal in February 24, 2014, after playing in 4 of the first 5 games he received an injury settlement from the Bears and was released on October 16, 2014. 

On January 5, 2016, Taylor signed a reserve/future contract with the Arizona Cardinals. On September 3, 2016, Taylor was released by the Cardinals. Taylor was re-signed by the Cardinals on November 1, 2016. He was placed on the injured reserve list on December 27, 2016 with a shoulder injury. On May 1, 2017, Taylor re-signed with the Bears and released on September 2, 2017. 



Bijan Hosseini 




Bijan played is a sophomore year at Chaffey College on the offensive line, starting all 10 games and started seven games during freshman year a Fullteron College. Bijan saw action at #7 Oklahoma and on the offense line surrendering sack against the Sooner. 

Bijan was an elite offensive guard for the Upland High School Football team and assisted with major blocks winning games for Upland High Football team.  Bijan graduated Upland High School in 2015. 




Devan Clark 



Devan Clark is an American Football player who is the running back for the Cornell Rams. Devan attended Upland High School and lettered all four years in football. Devan helped the Upland High School football team to the CIF Championship several times. 

Devan is a junior at Cornell College Engineering program is pursuing a position as a Mechanical Engineer. In 2016, Devan was named the Midwest Conference Special Teams Performer of the Week (Sept. 6). In 2015, Devan was named the First Team All-MWC; Team Most Improved Offensive Player.



Brian Emery



Brian Emery is an American Football player who started out as a quarterback, an offensive lineman and a tight end for University of Southern California (USC) Trojans. Brian wore several USC jerseys through his football career. Brian was a tight end for 8 years in the NFL on the Cardinals, Bengals and Bills. Brian was a NFLPA reprsentative with the Bengals from 1993-2000.  Brian attended Upland High School and lettered for several years in football in the early 1990s. 

Brian obtains a Bachelor's Degree in Communications and Marketing from Annenberg School with an interest in Non Profit/Public and Organizational Management in 1992. Brian still to this day bleeds Upland Pop Warner green.
  




Jack Eward Agapay 

Jack was born on September 6, 1945 in Upland and passed away on April 30, 2003, at Jerry L. Pettis Veterans Memorial Hospital in Loma Linda.

Jack had many accomplishments, former semi-pro football player and retired California Youth Authority counselor, contractor and recently held a

job as a security guard. Jack was a pop warner football player in his youth age and is known as an Upland Pop Warner coach for over 20 years.

Jack also coached all levels of baseball and girls softball. Jack was an avid darts player known as "Pineapple Jack". Jack was a Veteran of the

Vietnam War and proudly served his duty as a Special Forces Green Beret from 1963 to 1966 (POW/MIA).
